Cozi Tweaks Summer Lineup

Classic TV diginet Cozi TV is making some changes to their weekday program schedule starting July 18.

Joining the lineup are Quincy M.E. (1PM and 2PM) and modern-era sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun (7PM, 7:30PM). Leaving the weekday schedule: The Bionic Woman, Charlie’s Angels and Highway To Heaven.

FETV Drops COZI, Launches New Classic Lineup

Cable-satellite network FETV (Family Entertainment Television) has ended their relationship with broadcast diginet COZI-TV and unveiled a new lineup of classic TV programming.

FETV had been simulcasting a significant amount of COZI programming, mostly on weekdays, since 2014. According to FETV General Manager Bill Airy, the license agreement with NBCUniversal-owned COZI expired and is not being renewed.

Here’s a look at the new FETV schedule, which launched in late June:

FETV’s Saturday schedule is mostly classic TV, highlighted by a 7-hour block of The Lone Ranger from 11AM-6PM. Sundays are nearly all religious programming, although they are airing back-to-back episodes of Perry Mason and Matlock from 1-5PM.

Cozi Adds Columbo, Rockford, Emergency!

NBC’s classic TV digital network Cozi TV is dipping into the Universal library to freshen it’s schedule for Winter 2017.

Joining the Cozi lineup in January: Alias Smith and Jones, Columbo (1970s episodes), Emergency!, McCloud, McMillan & Wife and The Rockford Files. All but Alias Smith and Jones previously aired on competitor MeTV.

Exiting the schedule are Adam-12, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Hart to Hart, Starsky and Hutch and Zorro.

Classic TV diginets Antenna TV and Cozi TV are shifting their lineups for fall, adding some shows and pulling a few others.

Antenna TV is unveiling a pair of sitcoms: The Addams Family (moving over from ThisTV) and Wings. Father Knows Best returns to the schedule, while Mister Ed gallops back to competitor MeTV.

  • Classic TV digital network MeTV is tweaking their schedule starting tomorrow. New arrivals include The Patty Duke Show (moving from Antenna TV) at 6AM weekdays and Mama’s Family from 6-7PM weeknights. My Three Sons exits the lineup.
  • Fellow classic TV diginet CoziTV is juggling their lineup for the first quarter, highlighted by the addition of The A-Team (1983-87) and the return of Charlie’s Angels. Dragnet, The Real McCoys, Run For Your Life and Zorro leave the schedule.
  • Actor-turned-investment-guru Wayne Rogers passed away New Year’s Eve. Rogers played Trapper John M.D. on the first 3 seasons of military sitcom M*A*S*H and later portrayed a doctor again on the sitcom House Calls (1979-82). He had previously starred in the 1960-61 western series Stagecoach West and guested on many classic TV shows of the 60s and 70s. Among his credits: The Big Valley, Combat!, The F.B.I., Gomer Pyle USMC and Gunsmoke. Rogers was 82 years old.

Cozi Makes Late Summer Changes, Another Diginet On The Way

  • Classic TV diginet COZI TV is tweaking their schedule in August, adding modern classics Baywatch and Simon & Simon while resting The Bionic Woman, Charlie’s Angels and It Takes A Thief. They are also cutting back on airings of The Dick Van Dyke Show, Here’s Lucy and Starsky & Hutch. Get all the info here.
  • MGM TV and Sinclair Broadcast Group are teaming up to launch a sci-fi themed digital broadcast network. The as-yet-unnamed channel will air movies and series from the MGM library and is expected to launch sometime this fall.
  • Farewell to a pair of classic TV contributors. Actress Diana Douglas (ex-wife of Kirk, mother of Michael) guested on such series as Barnaby Jones, Cannon, Naked City and The Streets of San Francisco. Film and TV actor Irwin Keyes may best be remembered by classic TV fans as George Jefferson’s bodyguard on The Jeffersons. He also played Joe Rockhead in the 1994 big-screen adaption of The Flintstones.

NBC-owned classic TV diginet Cozi TV is launching its Winter 2015 lineup on Monday January 5.

Among the new shows on Cozi: Adam-12, Bronco, Dragnet, Murder She Wrote, The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp and Zorro.

Cozi’s schedule varies by station, so check your local listings. A portion of the Cozi lineup is also simulcast on FETV (Dish Network Channel 82).

Tuned In: Bewitched 50th Anniversary Marathon, Here’s Lucy Returns

  • National classic TV diginet Antenna TV will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bewitched (1964-72) with a 50 episode marathon this September. The 25-hour marathon will be hosted by Erin Murphy, who played daughter Tabitha Stephens on the hit ABC sitcom. The marathon starts Saturday September 12 at 1PM Eastern.   • Great news for Lucy fans! Lucille Ball’s third and final CBS sitcom Here’s Lucy is coming to national digital network Cozi TV. Cozi will air back-to-back episodes of the 1968-74 comedy weekdays from 4-5PM Eastern. It replaces Make Room for Daddy, which moves to 6-7PM. The Real McCoys is leaving the schedule.
  • A new version of classic hidden camera show Candid Camera is launching on cable network TV Land. Allen Funt was the creator and host of Candid Camera, which debuted way back in 1948. Allen’s son Peter will host the new incarnation, which starts August 11. He’ll be joined by co-host Mayim Bialik (Blossom, The Big Bang Theory).

  • Another TV classic may be returning to the airwaves. FremantleMedia (Let’s Make A Deal, The Price Is Right) is reportedly shopping a primetime revival of the celebrity panel game show To Tell The Truth to the broadcast networks. The original TTTT debuted in 1956.
  • Veteran television writer-producer Wilton Schiller has died. Schiller worked on such TV classics as The Adventures of Superman, Ben Casey, The Fugitive, Mannix and The Six Million Dollar Man. The 95-year-old Schiller died July 27 in California.
